Prototype 31 - Treasure Gold

This is prototype was called "Treasure Gold" by Parker.  It is likely to be an advanced prototype that made it to test marketing stage since the special packaging and dealer ad brochure was created and the pen itself had the Parker name engraved on the back of the cap band.

The special circular plaque is clearly labeled "Parker Treasure Gold" with a special logo.

From these photographs you will note that the familiar stacked-ring tassies are not used on these pens.  Instead they look just like the ones used on the RMS QE 75.

The front of the cap band has no inscription.

The Parker name and country of origin can be found on the back of the cap band.

This pen and its stippled finish is reminiscent of the RMS Queen Elizabeth limited edition, the difference being the goldplating.  Even the tassies seem to be the same and the size of the cap band, though the engraving is placed on the back of the cap band.

Based on these observations with the RMS QE 75, I would guess that this Treasure Gold 75 is from the same era or around 1977.  If you information about this, please send me email.

Here are pictures of an engineering prototype of the Treasure Gold BP.

From this close-up of the cap, you can see the engineering prototype number of this pen is 17104-20.

If anyone has a listing of all prototype numbers and what models they were, please email me.
