Two very special Parker 75 FPs fitted with titanium nibs were taken by President Richard M. Nixon on his historic trip to China on February 17, 1972 and presented to Chinese officials. These pens had panels mounted on them that contained minute amounts of lunar material taken off the moon's surface by the Apollo XV astronauts. The material was embedded in the powered gold and sintered into those small panels.
Another such pen was auctioned at the Chicago Pen Show 2000. Final hammer price was $4500, excluding 10% seller and buyer premiums. Hours later this pen changed hands again.
