For this update, I received several items from people in the UK: early 75 marketing literature from Mike Lewandowski and several new prototypes from Simon Gray of Battersea Pens, the staff at Bonhams Auction House, and Duncan Sewell. In fact, Bonhams took the trouble to re-shoot their auction pen to give me a high resolution digital image. To all these kind people, a warm thank you for sharing the information and images with me and the public!
As a member of the Michigan Pen Collectors club, I also wanted to highlight the upcoming Michigan Pen show, our 11th, to be held the weekend of September 8-10, 2000 at the Westin Hotel in Southfield, MI. This is the only non-profit show in the entire US and is run by the club. With 70 or so tables, ours is not the largest show but it has a very distinctively relaxed and friendly atmosphere. If you are in the vicinity, please make a point of stopping by. Sunday is the day when the show is opened to the general public for a $5 admission fee.
