Here is an example of a transitional US-made vermeil 75 FP in the classic crosshatch grid pattern. As you can see, there is a nice antiqued appearance with the subdued elegance of gold. Why is this a transitional pen? It is because the cap inscription bears the earlier Sterling & 14K G.F. inscription while the tassie is the dish-like version. Normally this inscription is found with flat tassies, while the dish tassie is found with the Sterling Vermeil inscription (like the S040208-01 being offered for sale).
