LTW Corner

This first update of 2004 comes immediately before the Chicago Pen Show.  In that regard I did not buy many 75s worth reporting except for the prototype vermeil laque FP so I am ever so grateful that I received news and contributions from other 75 collectors who were more successful.

First, I heard from Tsachi Mitsenmacher in Israel.  He was able to win some prototype BPs off eBay that I had the opportunity to photograph and share with you.  Equally interesting is a print-out of an archive inventory of Parker pens, presumably Parker's own archives.  In it there was a few tidbits that shed some light into various models of 75s: missing dates of production for various models, confirmation of the existence of different variations of the Parker Ambassador, use of the term "sunburst" for the type of tassie that I called "dished", etc.

Second another past contributor, Ralph Prather, sent an email with pictures of a vermeil 85 FP in the bark pattern.

The most significant development, however, is what new contributor Geof Barker sent to me.  He submitted pictures of a solid 14K gold "Presidential" 75 FP in the Imperial pattern.  Until this news, the Imperial has only been known to exist in the version that is goldplated over brass.  How exciting!  It is discoveries like this one that makes the Parker 75 so interesting.

Finally I received pictures of the solid 18K gold basketweave BP to prototype 26 from Mike Dvoretz, who is also a new contributor to this website.

I thank all these contributors for adding to the Parker 75 knowledge base represented by my website.  Their generosity benefits all of us with an interest in the Parker 75 line.

As always, I welcome your feedback/criticisms on this site.  I am always interested in hearing from you, especially if you have some 75 that you don't see here.  Even better if you want to sell it to me.  If you are looking for a particular 75 or have need of parts, drop me a note.  I might just have it.  Send me email at the LTW@Parker75.com address.

Thanks for visiting.
