After some extensive research into back issues of magazines, I have found several featuring one or more Parker 75 writing instrument. These records have proven very useful in identifying the names of various patterns and the suggested retail prices of Parker 75 models through the years.
To view the available ads, simply click the available links on the issue date. For greater detail, click on the image that appears and a bigger, higher resolution version will appear. But be patient as the high-res image is about 175K in size, almost triple the low-res image that initially appears.
By the 1990s, Parker had shifted its campaigns to the exclusion of the 75 family. In fact by 1992, all ad budget was spent on everything else except the 75 -- the Duofold and Insignia. Parker's efforts segmented the writing instrument market into four price segments:
$100 and up
$10 - $100
$3 - $10
Under $3
The Duofold and Insignia occupied the top 2 segments; the 75 did not belong anywhere in this structure. Thus the omission from advertising was a clear sign that the 75 would see its end shortly.
